About the study

This study compares the success rate of letrozole and misoprostol versus misoprostol alone for medical termination of first trimester pregnancy.

Who can take part

You may be eligible to participate in the study if you meet the following criteria:

INCLUSION CRITERIA

  1. Gestational age less than 64 days gestation (<9 wks).
  2. Hemoglobin >10 g/dL.
  3. BMI between 18.5 kg/m2 and 25 kg/m2.
  4. Missed abortion.

EXCLUSION CRITERIA

  1. Molar pregnancy.
  2. Fibroid uterus.
  3. Uterine anomalies.
  4. Coagulopathy.
  5. Medical disorder that contraindicate induction of abortion (e.g. heart failure).
  6. Previous attempts for induction of abortion in the current pregnancy.
  7. Allergy to misoprostol or letrozole.
